Family vacations create memories that will last forever. They are the perfect opportunity to bond, learn about a new culture, get adventurous and try out something new.
If you’re looking for a destination that your family will love, then a family holiday in Malta should be next on your bucket list.
Spend a day at the beach
Sandy beaches are the perfect spot for families with young children and Malta hosts some stunning ones, with Għajn Tuffieħa, Għadira Bay and Ramla Bay (Gozo) being some of the most favourite spots for families. While there, you can also enjoy various watersports activities like snorkelling, jet skiing, parasailing, and we can even arrange a boat charter for you. If you’re not a fan of sand, then there are plenty of other locations which you can visit to have a swim in the fresh rocky Mediterranean Sea. You can also take a power boat trip to Comino and enjoy the crystal waters at the Blue Lagoon for a day.
Explore the islands
If you love strolling around and discovering new places, you can visit traditional villages in Malta and enjoy a coffee at the local band club at places such as Balzan, Zejtun or Senglea (Isla). Alternatively, you can enjoy a countryside walk with stunning views of the Mediterranean, in places such as Fomm ir-Riħ, Siġġiewi, Wied iż-Żurrieq or Mellieħa. Of course having inside knowledge of where the locals hang out, is the secret to this sort of exploration, and our guides and consultants at Sunspot will do just that.
Go back in time
Take a trip down memory lane by visiting Popeye’s Village – the film set of the 1980’s production ‘Popeye’. The place has various fun activities for children and adults, including water sports (during Summer), animation shows, mini-golf and a comic museum.
Malta’s history is very rich and diverse – you cannot visit without learning more about it. For some educational fun, you can visit a number of museums, including the Maritime Museum, Toy Museum and National War Museum or historical sites such as Fort St Elmo, Upper Barraka Gardens or the Inquisitor’s Palace.
