Hotel Fortina Spa Resort

This hotel is situated on the waterfront in a quieter part of Sliema, with Sliema’s shops and facilities just 500m away. It is an all-inclusive property with an edge because the facilities are amongst the best in its class for a four-star hotel. Guests are able to do as much or as little as they choose, with ideal facilities for relaxing or active types.

The Fortina overlooks the island’s majestic capital Valletta and has some great views from the front, out to sea and over to Marsamxett harbour. For such a large hotel there is a very relaxed feel and the overall ambience is a mellow and sophisticated one.

The Fortina Spa Resort has established itself throughout Europe as one of the best short break spa treatment centres, and offers treatments of all kinds to suit all budgets. Décor is elegant and designed to relax the senses. The tropical gardens and many flowers scattered around the garden/pool area offer a warm and tropical presence.

Hotel facilities include:

  • Six indoor restaurants, consisting of a non-smoking Buffet (for b’fast, lunch & dinner), Speciality Qui-Si-Sana Health Cuisine (Adults only), Brasserie, Garden Restaurant, Italian and Chinese (Chinese restaurant opens in November 2004). All speciality restaurants are waiter served; open 5/6 days weekly, all open for dinner (reservations required) and some for lunch. These do not incur any extra charges for Table d’Hote. Speciality restaurants may also offer a la carte menus for a supplement. Special dietary requirements will always be catered for.
  • Garden island pool bar.
  • Lido outdoor bar with great views and evening entertainment. Garden bar.

The Spa Mediterranee offers concentrated sea water and algae treatments operated by powerful Thalasso Therapy, supervised by highly qualified physiotherapists. Anti-Stress treatments, weight loss programmes, Dermalife detoxification treatments, Oxyspa and oxygen inhalation, “Dead Sea” bathing & tanning, “Dead Sea” body treatments and Food Intolerance testing are available.

The Santé Spa is a one ticket pay all (unless included in package) Spa offering a combination of treatment rooms for anti-stress, detoxing and relaxing the body. Santé Spa offers a Finnish Sauna, Mediterranean Sauna, Reflexology Basin, Ice Fountain, Kneipp walk, Relaxation area with Tepidarium and heated recliners, Experience Showers, Meditation room, Laconium, Salt inhalation, Pedijets and a Cisterna Steam & Flower room.

The Belle Époque Beauty Centre offers a variety of beauty treatments including a Cleopatra Bath, the Belle Époque Wellbeing system, serial mud chamber, Eclipse intense pulsated light (2nd generation laser treatments), Oxyjet facials, Futur Tec facials, Le Stone therapy, Thai massages, Indian head massages, four-handed massages and a large variety of other massages and beauty treatments.

Board basis:
All-inclusive. All food, breakfast, lunch dinner, served in a choice of six restaurants, including fine dining, health cuisine and any snacks. All drinks, including imported spirits, local wine, local sparkling wine, cocktails, local beers, soft drinks, teas, and coffees. Also included: Thalasso therapy treatments (maximum of two pool treatments per day). Aerobics, step aerobics, slide aqua aerobics. Full day boat trip (1st May until 31 October) to Comino, including beer, wine, soft drinks and lunch. Harbour cruise. Summer months only (May until October): free canoes, free windsurfers, and free scuba introductory diving lesson.
